Export and Import
Exporting patterns in WordPress is easy and does not require technical skills. You may use this option if you want to share your patterns across more sites or with your colleagues 😃.
Exporting a Single Pattern​

Navigate to My Patterns
- Click on Customise in the left menu, then select Patterns.
- In the editor, click on Patterns, then go to My Patterns to see your custom patterns.

Export the Pattern
- Find the pattern you want to export.
- Click the three dots (⋮) under the pattern’s name.
- Select Export as JSON.
- The pattern will be downloaded to your computer as a JSON file.
Exporting Multiple Patterns at Once​

Go to Your Patterns List
Follow the same steps as above to reach My Patterns. -
Select Patterns
Use the checkboxes next to each pattern to select the ones you want to export. -
Export Selected Patterns
Click the Export as JSON icon at the bottom of the screen.
A compressed file (usually a.zip
) containing all selected patterns will be saved to your computer.
Importing patterns​

Navigate to My Patterns
- Click on Customise in the left menu, then select Patterns.
- In the editor, click on Patterns, then go to My Patterns to see your custom patterns.

Load JSON file
- Click Add Pattern, and select Import from JSON.
- Choose the file you exported previously and click Open to import it.
Important Notes​

Images or logos used in your patterns are not included in the export. You will need to upload these separately on the new site.
