WordPress Patterns
Patterns are pre-designed collections of blocks that work together, allowing you to:
- Insert complex layouts with a single click
- Maintain consistent design across your website
- Save time by using templates for common content structures
These are conceptually similar to Drupal's paragraphs or layout builder components. As with individual blocks, patterns can be tweaked as necessary for your specific use-case(s). Additionally, since patterns consist of blocks, they are inherently both responsive and accessible. This applies to both pre-made patterns and any custom-made patterns. In the future, a centralised repository of community-made patterns will be included, allowing broader collaboration across CERN WordPress websites. As WordPress at CERN continues to mature, more patterns and pre-made designs will be introduced.
