Lifecycle Policy
This page relates exclusively to WordPress Lite, a lightweight version of WordPress available between October 2024 and May 2025. It is no longer possible to create new WordPress Lite websites. We thank all WordPress Lite users and are happy to report that all feedback has been implemented and made available by default. This documentation will remain online and accessible until all WordPress Lite websites have been moved to the official WordPress Service.

Each project gets automatically registered in the CERN Application Portal as an application with the name in the following format webframeworks-app-catalogue-<Project name>
.
The Application Portal manages the lifecycle of all web resources, including projects, to ensure that information published is maintained by an active user. It directly controls the metadata and lifecycle of the website: ownership, the delegation of administrative permissions, categorization as a "Test", "Personal" or "Official" resource, and deletion of the site. Changes done to this application in the Application Portal are propagated to the Openshift project.
!!! info The initial owner of the application is the user who created it.
The lifecycle of a project depends on its category:
-
Official
- recommended for projects and teams (Departments, Groups, Sections, Projects, HEP, Experiments, Conferences, Events, Topics, Clubs, ...):- Automatically reassigned to team leader or supervisor 2 months after owner leaves CERN
-
Test
- recommended for testing (pre-production, experimental, ...):- Blocked 6 months after creation (this date can be extended) or 2 months after the owner leaves CERN
- Deleted 4 months after the blocking date
!!! danger Deleting the application from the Application Portal will also delete your OKD PaaS project.
